SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF DEVELOPING COLLEGES
- Secured bi-partisan support and state appropriated funding from SC Education Lottery funds for member institutions to share equally;
- Responsible for the drafting and passage of landmark legislation for South Carolina's Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs), which complements federal funding provisions and establishes a state funding mechanism for eligible institutions;
- Strengthened the eligibility criteria (via change in permanent law) to help ensure the Program's solvency and stability for future years;
- Key planner and promoter of the 1st Annual (collaborative) HBCU Job Fair, hosted by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham. Event drew major corporate entities and sponsors, as well as students from HBCUs across South Carolina;
- Coordinated and implemented an SCADC sponsored event in honor of Congressman Jim Clyburn (Majority Whip).
CITY OF COLUMBIA
- Secured funding for Streetscaping project;
- Secured funding for homeless shelters initiative;
- Lobbied (successfully) for passage of Criminal Gang Prevention Act.
SC PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION
- Responsible for the passage of seat belt (primary enforcement) law, which was one of the most debated and controversial issues facing the SC General Assembly in the last ten years;
- Passage of this seat belt law facilitates millions of dollars in federal highway safety incentives for South Carolina;
- Developed and implemented strategic communications plans that included governmental and public relations initiatives; Efforts were on target and highly publicized in the media.
THE PAXEN GROUP
- Secured funding for Columbia after-school program sites that offer essential life and business skills to eligible high school students through a national collaborative project.
INTERNATIONAL AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM
- Secured funding for the Museum;
- Increased Museum's visibility and reach via a strategic governmental relations effort.
MIDLANDS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
- Secured funding for the Midlands Community Health Center;
- Secured funding for the Midlands Community Health Center;
- Secured funding for infrastructure within Congaree Pointe.
DRIVING AMERICA'S FUTURE
- Developed Benchmark Intelligence Report for the purpose of strategically planning South Carolina's participation and reach with regard to the state's congressional targets and their stances on nationally debated issues;
- This document (BIR) served as South Carolina's blueprint by determining our strategies and implementation guidelines, in conjunction with similar efforts / strategies of other states across the nation.
ALLEN UNIVERSITY
- Advanced the University's corporate relations initiatives by assisting with the establishment of a corporate advisory board and promoting corporate partnerships with the institution;
- Facilitated the institution's inclusion into the UNCF, by ensuring its compliance with SACS.
SC DEPARTMENT OF PROBATION, PAROLE AND PARDON SERVICES
- Responsible for the passage of landmark legislation that had national implications for the agency
SOUTH CAROLINA ELECTION COMMISSION
- Wrote, updated and implemented the minority outreach strategic communications plan for statewide grassroots (HAVA-Help America Vote Act) initiatives, which have been successfully administered across South Carolina since 2003.
